Mommy's back to school

Any Moms out there for a new adventure. I am. I want to spice up my routine and set myself up for success once my boys are older.

I am gong back to school.

This will be a difficult task. Feelings of loss of self, but gaining of REAL self have occurred. Is this a reoccurring event with anyone else. I am finding that it is not just me, but with a lot of my friends, and none of them are parents. After this presidential election, whether you agree with it or not, you cannot deny the shift in consciousness that is happening. It is time for a change.

I feel lately that we must all become citizens of this world. It is our home and we are destroying it.

I have studied the always rewarding field of acting for so long I thought that that was all I was. Not now. I am broadening my horizons. Kids truly change everything. I want to learn how to grow a garden. Be more self sufficient.

OK, so this didn't sprout from thin air. Did anyone else see "Earth 2100" on ABC June 2? Well, It really put things in perspective for me. I now feel I have a duty to my children and grandchildren future. Teaching them how to live in harmony with our planet.

I know, I know. Your either thinking, "HIPPIE" or "Where have you been". But it is something to truly think about.

Are we living a life that is going to make a difference, or living the life of our EGO.

Ok...so some of you are receiving these in an email...so if you are confused, this is my new blog! just for moms. If your interested in sharing ways to help other moms with easy meals, tricks to motherhood, etc... then join in!

I am new at this...so we'll see how it goes!

I wanted to tell you guys that I am adding more fish to our diet...we eat it at least one dinner a night...so i am trying to do it more...can i just say that salmon is the easiest thing to cook! I bake it and in 10 min its done...

One of my go to meals is a southwestern salmon.

bake the salmon for 10 min with salt and pepper...
in a pan add evoo(extra virgin olive oil...courtesy of Rachel Ray!)
add ground cumin and heat...
then add a can of black beans and corn...
finish with cilantro

and for the salmon...
take salsa and butter and throw it in the microwave until butter is melted...
top it to the salmon!!

I love this dish and so does my 3 year old. He thinks its chicken!

AND it only takes about 15 min!

Any one else have quick fixes?

New Year! New me?

Well, well, well. It's Blog time! Are you ladies up for some mom time!

Ok, that was lame, but i am pumped to start this!

You and I know being a mom is not easy. And sometimes I feel that I am alone even though I know I am not. So hopefully here we can all support each other.

After having my son who is now 5 mo. old, I am finally starting to feel my creative juices flow again. I am working on new script idea but desperately needing to finish my other one! I am focused on my voice overs too...trying to break into something that can bring in a lot of money without working all week...now that's what I am talking about!

Are you feeling any changes for the coming year. Why does it seem that even though it is just another day, a "new year" feels so different? It really changes something inside of us even if that feeling only last a couple months! Well thank God for it! 'Cause I am ready!

Any resolutions out there from you ladies? Remember you are putting it on here for everyone to hold you accountable...so that's a good thing!
